Fellow Republicans and Conservatives:

We are moving head-first into perhaps the most important national election in our individual lifetimes. Decisions made in the election booth come November will be historical in perspective and direction.

Stepping into a new leadership role always has its challenges. I have found the challenges to be small in weight, many in number. Programs and speakers, website and what to do with it, membership growth and involvement, working with fellow republican clubs and other conservative groups, expanding program options beyond our scheduled monthly meetings and more are all items to be addressed.

I hope our efforts and your participation will help us make Obama a one term president. And, we all need to be involved and working to move him back to Illinois.

At the state and local level redistricting is top of mind along with local and state wide elections. A senate race beckons the challenge to unseat long-time Democratic Senator Bill Nelson by a list of Republican hopefuls.

Let’s not overlook the Supreme Court decision on the challenge to Obamacare that will be heard this summer.

Locally, we will be having county elections for multiple County Commission seats, along with some of our county Constitutional Officers.

Come join our monthly meetings at 7:00 PM on Thursday at Lake Miona Recreation Center. In January we kicked off the year with a program by Blaise Ingoglia, the owner and face of Government Gone Wild. The videos Blaise has posted through GGW are among the most watched political videos you’ll find posted on the web. Blaise is also Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida.

We are working on attracting US Senate candidates having secured Mike McCalister, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, for February, and have made contact with Pam Bondi’s office regarding Obamacare and are working on other speakers, perhaps some movies and programs of interest for programs extending into this spring. Stay tuned.
